If you're planning to go there on foot, pass by Hotel Huascaran and after crossing a small bridge, take a right on the second street (there's a blue mark there). From there it's a 2-hour walk uphill. You should always ask directions as there are many small paths used by locals. You can always take a combi for $0.55.
