You can take a blue-roof boat that leaves from Puno bay at 8 am every day and return at 2.30 pm. A return ticket is $9 and the journey lasts 4-5 hours (make sure you have water and seasick pills). Some boats stay there over night so you can't do 1 day tours; ask first.
