I've heard that Lima has a gold museum, what exactly can impress me there if I ever pay a visit there?(give a different answer) .
There is an excellent collection of precolumbian gold, silver and bronze, ceramics and mummies at the Museo de Oro del Peru y Armas del Mundo. If you want to buy the catalogue you'll have to pay about 15 $, for the complete book they ask for 80 $. On the ground floor there's a remarkable armas (weapons) collection with an exhibition from Spanish colonial times to present.
