alice's question:
What should I know before visiting the Cathedral of Lima?(give a different answer) .
The Cathedral of Lima was almost destroyed in the earthquake of 1746 and now is a reconstruction on the lines of the original, work completed in 1755. It is remarkable by the splendidly carved stalls, silver-covered altars sorrounded by fine woodwork or mosaic-covered walls bearing the coats of arms of Lima and Pizzaro. Inside there is set the Museo de Arte Religioso with free guided tours.
