Lima - some brief details about weather.

Posted 1 year ago by stikka in response to vieri's question: How's the weather in Lima, its really hot there? (give a different answer) .

Knowing that Lima is just 12° south of the equator, I expected a tropical climate, but no, Lima has actually 2 distinct seasons. The winter is from May to November when a damp mist hangs over the city, making everything look grey, and it's cold, like 8-15° C. Around November the sun breaks through and the temperatures rise up to 30°C. As a tip, protect yourself against the sun's rays when visiting the beaches around Lima.
